Chopta 4 Days Trek

Chopta is a small region of meadows and evergreen forest area which is a part of kedarnath wildlife sanctuary located in Uttarakhand state, India and a base for trekking to Tungnath, third temple of Panch Kedar, which lies 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) away. Located at a distance of 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) from Tungnath is Chandrashila, a rising to over 4,000 metres (13,000 ft).
Chopta is an unspoiled natural destination lying in the lap of the Uttarakhand Himalayas and offers views of the imposing Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba. It is located at an elevation of 2,680 metres (8,790 ft) above sea level. Chopta village is surrounded by forests of pine, deodar and rhododendron and is rich in flora and fauna.


Day 1. Drive to Sari (191km ) 7 to 8 hrs
Sari starting point of our trek,Ride goes with Ganga river, on the way we stop at Devprayag,one of the Panch Prayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River where Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet and take the name Ganga or Ganges River.Reach Sari 2 km Trek to Devariyatal (2438 m.) It is a beautiful lake, where one can see the reflections of Chaukhamba peak on the crystal clear water. Night stay at Deoriatal. In tents.

Day 2. Devariatal to Chopta 5 to 6 hrs
After breakfast trek to Chopta. A Gradual trail pass through the dense forest a, located in an idyllic setting having beautiful meadows and is surrounded by dense forests. Reach Chopta overnight stay in Tents.

Day3. Chopta-Tungnath-Chandershila top-Chopta
After breakfast 3kms. trek to Tungnath then 2km Chandrashilla (4000m.). Tungnath,consider one of the Shiva temples is the highest temple in Garhwal The summit of the Chandrashilla peak provides a breathtaking 360 degree view of Himalayas Nanda Devi (7817Mtrs-the highest peak of Indian Himalayas), Kedarnath, Trishul, Banderpoonch etc. . Evening back to camp.

Day4. After morning breakfast drive back to Rishikesh. Trip end.
Start the ride early morning from Chopta, downhill back toward Rishikesh. We stop at Devprayag to visit the confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers where the Holy Ganga is formed and head on to Camp Ganga Riviera, where we warm ourselves by a bonfire, and relax after the journey. Overnight at camps.
